Four scopes, live

Histogram, waveform, RGB parade and vectorscope, on the composited frame while it plays.

The signal you are judging

They read the display-encoded picture your monitor receives, which is the one your eye is grading.

The assistant reads them

Ask whether the blacks are crushed and it answers off the same bins, not off a look at a thumbnail.

What you see is what ships

One working space through the whole cut, and every export tagged Rec.709 so the file matches the panel.

The assistant reads the same numbers.

It reads the scopes, not a guess, and reports whole-frame values, never where.

VectorscopeLean off the skin line

One color space, from ingest to file.

What the panel shows is what the export says.

The Skeet studio with a project open, the monitor showing a graded frame above the cut.

HDR scopes

The scopes are built for standard-range material and clamp what falls outside it. Handling out-of-range values is a mode we have specified and not built, so if you are finishing in HDR, this is not the panel for it today.

ACES

The working space is a managed Rec.709 one, chosen on purpose and written down. A full ACES pipeline is a decision we have deferred rather than a menu item we are hiding. When it lands you will hear about it here first.

Output to a reference monitor

Everything is judged on the panel in front of you. There is no card output, no calibration path and no device profile. Grading to a broadcast reference display is a job this does not do.

One editor, open in a browser tab.

Your footage in it, and everyone you invite.

The Skeet studio open on a nature film: the project bin down the left full of clips and audio, a green field of seed heads held on the monitor, a cut on the timeline under it with two shots on the video lane, an ambience track, and a grade applied over both, and the assistant in the right-hand rail working out what "captions" should mean for footage with no dialogue in it.

Bring your own footage.

Each of these is as clear about what is missing as this page was.
